Marc Lanzkowsky is a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in the insurance and risk management industry. His career has been defined by a commitment to strategic transformation and operational excellence. In his most recent role as VP of Claim Operations at Healthcare Risk Advisors, Marc led a team of over 40 professionals, driving comprehensive improvements in claims capabilities through data-driven optimization and InsurTech integration. His expertise lies in revolutionizing insurance enterprises through a combination of strategic thinking, operational discipline, and deep claims knowledge.
Throughout his career, Marc has held several key leadership positions. At FTI Consulting, as Managing Director, he developed claims management protocols for major insurance companies and led transformative redesigns of legal departments, resulting in significant annual savings. During his tenure as Senior Vice President of Home Office Claims Management at Arch Insurance Company, Marc built a specialty claims operation from the ground up, overseeing claims professionals and managing $3.6B in reserves. He implemented innovative programs that reduced expense costs by 40% for primary casualty claims and decreased Allocated Loss Costs by 11%.
Prior to Arch, Marc served in leadership roles at Zurich Insurance Company, where he progressed from Northeast Regional Claims Manager in Healthcare Claims to Claims Director of Operational Innovation for Specialty Claims. In these roles, he managed large teams, implemented performance metrics, and developed business intelligence tools for real-time assessment of departmental strengths and weaknesses.
Marc’s approach to leadership combines a strategic mindset with hands-on operational expertise, enabling him to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. He has consistently achieved significant cost savings, process optimizations, and technological advancements throughout his career. Holding a Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law and having practiced in medical malpractice litigation, Marc brings a unique legal perspective to his work in insurance and risk management.
In addition to his corporate roles, Marc founded and operated Lanzko Consulting, Inc., a boutique claims consultancy. In this capacity, he provided management-consulting services to a diverse client base, including Ironshore, Munich Re Canada, and Lloyd’s Market Association.
